CMO, YUM! Brands
Ken is the Chief Marketing Officer for Yum! Brands, one of the world’s largest restaurant companies, with more than 48,000 restaurants in more than 140 countries and territories. Its restaurant brands—KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell—are global leaders of their categories. As CMO, Ken runs a highly specialized strategic marketing division of Yum!, called Collider, made up of about 20 cultural strategists, marketers, data and social scientists. This team helps set the marketing vision for all three brands around the world, trains the marketers on the latest breakthroughs in marketing science, and solves individual marketing challenges in dozens of countries. Additionally, every year Collider produces seminal internal global research studies defining the changing culture of youth, which allow the brands to stay continually relevant with emerging generations. Prior to this role, Ken ran Collider as an independent strategic consultancy, working with brands like Nestlé, Verizon, Toyota and more. Ken got his start in marketing as a copywriter at an ad agency and eventually became creative director and ultimately ran Strategic Planning departments at Gallegos United, a highly awarded boutique creative ad agency, and FCB, one of the largest ad agencies in the world.
